Nightlife aims to create a flexible night time service for people with disabilities living in their own homes in the Southern region of Melbourne. Nightlife aims to not only be an emergency over night service but a service that liberates and makes an “ordinary” life possible for people with disabilities. It will enable people to live as independently as possible in their own homes and enjoy an inclusive lifestyle. The type of support people receive from Nightlife will vary and is uniquely tailored to each person’s needs.

Nightlife will provide a night time support service that will:
-
Enable people with disabilities who require some sort of support aroundthe clock to remain living as independently as possible in their ownhomes or in their family’s home and prevent their admission to costlycongregate care facilities.
-
Enable people to move from congregate care facilities and hospitals into their own homes or return to their family’s homes.
-
Provide high quality, ethically driven supports that are dignified andrespectful to each person’s unique lifestyle, culture and relationships.
-
Enable people to enjoy a personally fulfilling lifestyle that is socially inclusive in the evenings.
-
Provide people with a sense of liberation, security, privacy and backup emergency night support without having to rely on paid 24-hour support models or to pay a costly minimum number of support hours for small intermittent periods of support e.g. for turning.
-
Reduce the burden and dependency on families, many of which are aging or at breaking point.
Nightlife is excited about moving into new premises, and look forward to continuing the ongoing high quality, consumer driven service. We will always continue to improve the lives of people living with a Disability.
