Nightlife Disability Service Inc. (Nightlife) is a not-for-profit association registered with the Department of Health and Human Services and with the NDIA. Nightlife is a small, flexible night time service for people with a disability living in their own homes. Nightlife aims to not only be an emergency over night service but a service that liberates and makes an ‘every day’ life possible for people with disabilities. It enables people to live as independently as possible in their own homes and enjoy an inclusive lifestyle. The type of support people receive from Nightlife varies and is uniquely tailored to each person’s needs.


Nightlife is a not-for-profit association registered with the Department of Health and Human Services and with the NDIA. Nightlife is governed by a Committee of Management (Board) and employs a Manager and numerous disability support workers.

Committee of Management

Nightlife is consumer-driven. It is governed by people with disabilities who use the service (Service Users) to safeguard its philosophies and principles and ensure it stays true to its intent.

The Committee is responsible for the service and acts on behalf of Nightlife’s Members when making decisions. The key functions of the committee include:

  • Developing, managing and evaluation of the strategic planning process,
  • Supporting the Nightlife Manager in delivering a high quality and effective service to Members,
  • Developing, reviewing and ensuring the implementation of Nightlife’s policies and procedures,
  • Financial accountability including the development and effective management of the annual budget,
  • Supporting the Manager in the recruitment, direction and supervision of staff where appropriate,
  • Developing on-going fundraising strategies,
  • Other duties as and when they arise.

The Committee holds 2 hour meetings each month (3rd Monday of the month). It is expected that there will be an additional commitment of approximately one hour per week.

Applicant Criteria

Nightlife’s Committee of Management currently has a vacancy which is a voluntary role. Nightlife is looking for a marketing focused individual with experience or has a passion to put marketing knowledge to effective use and at the same time put something back into your community Nightlife is entering an exciting phase with growing client numbers and the successful candidate would drive promotion and growth of services and ensure client needs are satisfied.

Along with the Committee of Management you will ensure service is best practice and identify potential new clients and promote the service through the proper selling channels. The applicant would have proven experience in some of the following areas:

  • Marketing/promotions
  • Networking experience
  • Fundraising
  • Administration and operations
  • National Police Name Check

Prior experience in an incorporated body and/or assisting/managing an incorporation process will be highly regarded. Any knowledge, understanding or experience within health and/or disability services would be advantageous but not essential.
